CCR Group inaugurates new International Airport of Quito, Ecuador
São Paulo, February 19, 2013. CCR S.A. (“CCR”) (BM&FBovespa: CCRO3; Bloomberg: CCRO3BZ; Reuters: CCRO3.SA) is informing its shareholders and the market in general that on this date, together with its Quiport concessionaire partners — AECON, Airport Development Corporation (ADC) and HAS Development Corporation (HAS-DC) — it has inaugurated the new International Airport of Quito, Ecuador.
The airport has modern and safe installations, bringing even more development to the city and the country. Making use of advanced technology, the airport can handle direct flights to São Paulo, New York, Madrid, Santiago (Chile) and Buenos Aires.
The current Mariscal Sucre Airport will be decommissioned tomorrow and a park will be built in its place. Due to its location in the center of the city and surrounding mountains, it was not possible to expand its terminal to receive larger aircraft. As a result, the construction of a new International Airport of Quito begun in 2006.
The inauguration of the new airport, as well as the acquisition of the airports in San José, Costa Rica and Curaçao, is part of the CCR group‘s strategy for entry into the airport segment.
